License

License

Every WordPress theme and plugin distributed by OZ Web Expert — free downloads and paid products alike — is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later (GPLv2+), and is 100% GPL compatible.

That applies to all of the code, and to everything bundled with it: templates, stylesheets, scripts, images, icons, fonts and any third-party libraries included in the download. Nothing we ship carries a restriction that conflicts with the GPL.

What this means for you

The GPL gives you four freedoms, and they come with every product you download or buy from this site:

  • Use it freely. Install a product on as many sites as you like — your own or your clients’. There is no per-site licence key and no activation limit on the code itself.
  • Study how it works. The full source is included in every download. Nothing is obfuscated or encrypted.
  • Modify it. Change anything you want, for any reason, without asking permission.
  • Redistribute it. Share the original or your modified version with others, provided you pass on the same GPL freedoms.

What you are paying for

Because the code is GPL, a paid product is not a purchase of permission to use the software — you already have that. What a purchase buys is ongoing access to updates, documentation and support, and it funds continued development. Those services are tied to your account rather than to the code, which stays free in every sense the GPL intends.

Bundled third-party resources

Where a product includes work created by someone else, that work is used under a licence compatible with the GPL, and the licence is credited in the product’s readme.txt. Examples of licences you will find there:

  • SIL Open Font License 1.1 — self-hosted webfonts.
  • MIT License — build tooling and front-end libraries.
  • CC0 / public domain — demo and placeholder imagery.

Icons, illustrations and placeholder artwork created in-house are released under the GPL along with the rest of the product.

Scope of this statement

This page covers the WordPress themes and plugins distributed through this site. Other things published here — hosted tools, mobile applications and written content such as blog posts and photographs — are not WordPress products and are governed by the Terms of Use instead.

The licence text

The full text of the GNU General Public License version 2 is available at gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html. A copy is also included with each product.
